| Hello
Phoenix ! |
|
| What
is your Country ? |
|
|
USA |
| Since
when have you been making dolls ? |
|
|
Since
2004, around Christmas time.
|
| How
did you discover the world of the dolls and the pixel art?: |
|
|
My good friend blue (link: http://www.eclectic-blue.com/)
began trying out pixel dolling after finding sites like Swiss
Cheese Army and ILCK. After she showed me some of her work,
I decided to try it for myself.
What gave you the desire to create your own dolls? I draw and
paint already, so I wanted to see what I could create after
looking at blue's dolls and finding other dolling websites -
I wanted to make beautiful thinks like Angy-Chan and Jaeden
did on their sites and so I practiced every day! |

|
| How
did your integration in the doll community went? Did you
immediately went to the forums ? |
|
|
The first forum I joined was Realm of the Forbidden
way back when; afterwards I found Eden Enchanted and then have
been on many other dolling forums as both a member and staff.
I've found the dolling community to be very friendly and people
were very open to helping me grow and improve as a doller.
|
| Which
are your idoles (in the real life and on the Web) ?: |
|
|
I admire my mother greatly for her strength and
for her patience, she taught me how to be patient and work steadily
at something to make it the best I can be. I also admire TONS
of pixel artists (way too many to list here) and a few artists
on the web: Hyung-tae Kim, Wen-m, Ross Campbell and others.
|
| Which
dollers do you admire ?:
|
|
|
I love
Jaeden's work (I studied her dolls for a long time to try and
imitate her style), as well as Guardian's for her palettes and
the way she pixels folds in clothing, as well as all of her
detailing .. also Blue, for getting me into the whole hobby
in the first place.
|
| The
dolls are for you: a simple leisure or a true passion ?: |
|
|
Somewhere
both -- I do have passion for dolling and I regard it as art,
just like drawing or painting, but it's great for when I'm bored
or just looking to kill some time, but I also get tremendously
inspired and doll nonstop if I find a neat contest or have a
good idea. I've been doing it for a long time and I have no
intention of stopping!
|
Finally, could you choose 3 favorites dolls among your work ?
|

a baseless pixel doll of my RP character, Nimue, who I have
been playing for three years now. this was the first major
baseless thing I ever tried and I'm quite happy with it. I
especially love how her hair came out, hair is one of my most
favorite things to doll. |

base
a re-do of a much older doll; I never,
ever use yellow in my dolls and I really liked the concept
and wanted to doll her again!
|

base
a much older doll, but still one of my favorites. this one
started a sari craze on Eden Enchanted. I love dolling sari,
because they're quite intricately detailed and I enjoy all
of the gold accents and dangly bits, as well as Indian culture.
